Soccer is the same way. Pass or shoot from a short distance and strive for 100% accuracy. Then increase the distance a little at a time.
Make it work.
Make it Work! By Alan Maher
My wife took up golf about three years ago. She plays twice a week. Now she has a putting green in the house. It is a piece of green carpet about twelve feet long and a little over a food wide. There is a hole at one end.
My wife pulled it out of the closet the other day. I was in the next room reading a newspaper. I could hear the ball on the wood floor, so I knew that she was not putting accurately. I looked up. She was at one end of the carpet and the hole was at the other end.
“Get much closer to the hole”, I told her. Putt for 100% accuracy and then back up a little at a time. Make it work.
The balls stopped rolling on the wood floor.
Soccer is the same way. Pass or shoot from a short distance and strive for 100% accuracy. Then increase the distance a little at a time.
Make it work.
This should all be familiar by now. Make it work. Make it better. Harder. The greater the distance the harder it is.
If your coach or parents have not given you this sage advice then take it from me. “Before you go on to more complicated techniques or tactics… Make it work!”
