The USA women's soccer team has inspired young soccer players in northwest Missouri.
Now, the boys and girls are putting their best foot forward to become the next Landon Donovan or Hope Solo.
"It was pretty cool to see them come back with only 10 people and come back and beat Brazil," said Elijah Brizendine, 12.
"The vibe coming up here was incredible," says Geoff Stapleton, President of Premier Coaching. "That's all the people were talking about," he added.
More than 150 kids participated in the Coaching Premier Soccer Camp at Missouri Western's Griffon Indoor Sports Complex this week. The organization provides a professional soccer feel by bringing in International coaches.
"They all bring a little different flavor to the game," says Vlatko Andonovski, Coaching Director of Premier Coaching. "They all bring a different experience, different culture, and that's something we try to emphasize," Andonovski said.
The campers and coaches were most impressed by the amenities.
"We could have probably gone outside, but the overwhelming feeling from these kids to be indoors and being in a facility like this [is great]. If we can have it, we're going to use it," says Stapleton.
The campers took time out to watch the USA women's team play France in the semifinals of the World Cup on Wednesday, but they watched the game with a different perspective.
"We can learn," says Alex Widman, 12. "We can watch their mistakes and we can learn from that."
