This is a great game in which to coach "attacking" technique and tactics. I first saw this game played in Rio in 1991 and it seems to be a popular game throughout Brasil. Its called "The Kitchen" as the area outside the penalty area is where you prepare the attack like preparing a
tasty meal.

This is a great game in which to coach real "attacking" techniques and tactics. I first saw this game played in Rio in 1991 and it seems to be a popular game throughout Brasil. Its called "The Kitchen" as the area outside the penalty area is where you prepare the attack like preparing a
tasty meal.
This is where players have to be at their creative best like Diego and Robinho playing all sorts of wall passes, dummies and teamplay unknown to the waiting world when we saw them as young pro's at Santos FC.
Brasilians call this deadly attacking play "cascavel futbol" as this Brasilian snake is cunning and lightening fast. Its like the rattle of a rattlesnake you can sense danger & trouble in the air. The speed of play accelerates and most of the play is one touch and the rattle gets louder.
Several years ago with an better than average ODP team were defeated quite heavily by Santos and their "kitchen" was on fire with 5 of their 7 goals originated from this gam e. Whereas our mode of operations was the infamous "run and gun." Great when playing against average to poor opponents but becomes a blunt weapon when defending skills are aware and can see it coming a mile away. It was like taking candy from a babe.
For both coaches its time to elevate our attacking play to excite players, fans and coaches alike. We have too many boring games of 0-0,1-0 stalemate games and "The Kitchen" could provide an answer to igniting exciting play
GOOD COOKING,
