the U6 Player & Coach

In this age group it's FUN being active.  A rhythm evolves as the ball goes to and fro. When a child becomes tired and can no longer concentrate, they will sit down.  They will start again when they want to.  Moments of effort are automatically followed by relaxation and rest.

I wanted to give you an update on my first season as a U6 head coach, and share a very special story with you. I’d also like to reiterate that the ideas and concepts presented in your ‘9-Step Practice Routine have been a great stepping stone on my path to discovering my own coaching style.
 This year has not been without it’s challenges. While I initially had 8 players on my roster (we play 6 on 6 with no keepers), there is one that has never shown up due to scheduling conflicts with an older sibling playing comp. In fact, only 4 of my players were available for the first game, and I had to “borrow” two from the other coach.  Read More..
